Favorite Paper of the Semester

My favorite paper from this semester was definitely the Research Paper.  This was kind of a surprise to me because I was dreading the paper before I had selected my topic and begun the writing process.  I had to write a research paper in high school and I hated it.  I put so much time into it and I felt like I was wasting my time.  Plus I got a mediocre grade on it.  This research paper was different though.  My professor had us write down some of our favorite childhood memories and some of our pet peeves.  I had no trouble coming up with ideas for each category, especially the pet peeves.  One of my favorite childhood memories involved sports.  Sports have always been a huge part of my life and I have spent so much time practicing and playing them that I thought it would be neat to write a paper on them if I could.  I began thinking of specific topics that I could write on, and professional athlete salaries came to mind.  I've heard many people arguing about the high salaries that athletes earn, but I have never heard anyone defend them and I thought it would be fun to take that position.  I found this paper easy and almost fun to write because I was very interested in the topic and I had strong opinions about it.  While writing this paper I realized that selecting a topic that you are interested in results in a higher quality paper and hopefully a higher grade.
